By the unlimited mercy of Lord Jagannath and His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda, the Berlin Ratha Yatra 2026 was a magnificent celebration of love, devotion and community — and the biggest Ratha Yatra festival ever held in Berlin.

On 18 July 2026, over 1,200 devotees and well-wishers gathered at Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple, Hasenheide 106, Berlin — chanting the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra, pulling Lord Jagannath's chariot through the streets, and sharing the joy of free vegetarian prasadam together.

"The holy name of the Lord is so powerful that simply by chanting it one can be freed from all the reactions of sinful life, and certainly anyone who does so is never again devoured by the blazing fire of material existence."

— Śrīla Prabhupāda, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.2.46

What is Ratha Yatra?

Ratha Yatra — the Festival of the Chariots — is one of the most ancient and joyful celebrations in the world, originating in Puri, Odisha, India, over 5,000 years ago. Lord Jagannath (meaning "Lord of the Universe"), along with His brother Lord Baladeva and sister Subhadra Devi, are placed on ornate wooden chariots and pulled through the streets by thousands of devotees.

Śrīla Prabhupāda, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), brought Ratha Yatra to the Western world in 1967 in San Francisco — a historic moment when tens of thousands joined for the first time outside India. Today, Ratha Yatra is celebrated in hundreds of cities worldwide, including London, New York, Sydney — and now, magnificently, in Berlin.

Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda, who brought the Hare Krishna movement from India to the West in 1966 and showed the world that Lord Jagannath belongs to everyone — regardless of nationality, religion or background.
