What is Hare Krishna Berlin?
Hare Krishna Berlin is a devotional community practising Bhakti Yoga — the ancient yoga of devotion — in the heart of Berlin. We follow the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, who brought the Hare Krishna movement from India to the Western world in 1966.
Every Saturday, the Hare Krishna Berlin community gathers in Berlin-Wedding for a full evening of kirtan (group mantra chanting), Bhagavad-Gita study and free vegetarian prasadam (sacred food). Our doors are open to everyone — regardless of religion, nationality or background. No membership, no fees, no prior experience needed.
Whether you are a lifelong devotee or simply curious about mantra meditation, yoga philosophy or Indian culture — Hare Krishna Berlin is a warm, inclusive community where you are always welcome.

Srila Prabhupada & the Hare Krishna Movement
The Hare Krishna movement was brought to the Western world by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada (1896–1977). Arriving in New York in 1965 with almost no money, he established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and within 12 years had spread Bhakti Yoga to over 100 countries.
Srila Prabhupada translated over 70 volumes of Vedic wisdom — including the Bhagavad-Gita As It Is and Srimad-Bhagavatam — making ancient Sanskrit knowledge accessible to the entire world. Hare Krishna Berlin follows his teachings as our foundation for everything we practice and teach.
About Srila PrabhupadaAbout Hare Krishna Berlin
Do I need to be Hindu or religious to attend Hare Krishna Berlin?
No. Hare Krishna Berlin welcomes everyone — Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists, yoga practitioners and the simply curious. No prior knowledge, no religion, no fees. Just come as you are.
What is the Hare Krishna mantra?
The Hare Krishna Maha Mantra is: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna / Krishna Krishna Hare Hare / Hare Rama Hare Rama / Rama Rama Hare Hare. These 16 Sanskrit words are chanted for inner peace, stress relief and spiritual connection. Modern science confirms that mantra chanting reduces cortisol and induces meditative brainwave states.
Is Hare Krishna Berlin part of ISKCON?
Hare Krishna Berlin Devotees are inspired by Srila Prabhupada's teachings — the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON. We practise independently and welcome devotees of all backgrounds and affiliations.
Is everything really free?
Yes — kirtan, the class, the prasadam and all our programs are completely free. No donation expected. No membership. Just come.
How do I find the exact location?
We meet in Berlin-Wedding, 5 minutes walk from Osloer Str. U-Bahn (U9/U8). Join our WhatsApp community — we send the exact address every Saturday morning.
